Registration is now live for Thrive by WHX, the flagship wellness, sport and longevity summit of the World Health Expo (WHX). Taking place from 2–4 September 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the event is free to attend and will unite global and African leaders in medicine, sport, nutrition, human optimisation and mental health.

Thrive by WHX is where health and wellness listen to Africa’s voice,” says Tom Coleman, Portfolio Director, Healthcare. “This year’s programme focuses on longevity science, youth wellness and mental resilience. With registration now live, we are inviting delegates across healthcare, sport and business to join us in shaping the future of health in Africa.”

Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, adds: “Wellness is important to us in the Western Cape, and Thrive showcases our shared commitment through its lineup of world experts in health and fitness.”

Event Highlights: Live Music, Fitness & Exclusive Experiences

  • Exclusive Concert with Lira: On 3 September 2025, Thrive hosts a special performance by South African music icon Lira, supported by the Goliath Brothers and a DJ set. With just 1,500 tickets available, this promises a night of rhythm, comedy, and connection.
  • HYROX Fitness Partnership: From 2–4 September, Thrive partners with HYROX, the global fitness competition, offering interactive workouts, F45 activations, and athlete talks from names like Carla Molinaro and Vicky MacIntosh. One attendee will win a trip to HYROX New York.

Personalised, Proactive Health

The summit’s speakers will showcase how AI, wearables, personalised medicine and preventative models are transforming health and performance.

  • “We’re redesigning care around individual variability,” says Dr Ash Kapoor.
  • Sports physician Dr Janesh Ganda notes: “Longevity is about functioning better, for longer.”
  • Dietician Niall Naidoo adds: “Tools once seen as luxuries are now everyday essentials – tracking sleep, movement, and mood because these tools work.”

Three Days of Optimisation & Longevity

World Longevity Summit (2–3 September)

Two days of talks and workshops on extending healthspan, not just lifespan, covering AI in health, genetics, regenerative medicine, stem cell therapy, immune ageing, biotechnology, and cognitive performance.

Youth Wellness & High-Performance Pathways Conference

Chaired by Dr Phathokuhle Zondi and moderated by rugby legend Bryan Habana, this track spotlights African school sport, athlete development, nutrition, recovery, AI in youth performance, and lessons from Olympian Geraldine Pillay-Viret and para-athlete Anrune Wyers.

Wellness, Innovation & Optimisation Conference (4 September)

Focuses on holistic performance, female physiology in sport, workplace wellbeing, and training strategies across the lifespan. Key sessions include:

  • The Female Physiology Lab with Dr Zondi & Dr Nicola Freitas
  • Longevity Toolkit with Dr Kapoor, Dr Shona Hendricks & Dr Linia Patel
  • Breaking the Ceiling Panel on advancing performance

New Platform: Mind Matters

Thrive 2025 introduces Mind Matters, a forum dedicated to mental wellness, resilience, and recovery. Rooted in neuroscience and sport psychology, it explores integrating mental health into schools, clinics, and workplaces — highlighting why recovery and reflection are as vital as performance.

A Platform for Action and Connection

Across three days, Thrive by WHX will offer:

  • Evidence-based workshops and panel discussions
  • Practical toolkits for healthcare, education, and corporate wellness
  • Interactive debates and live demonstrations
  • Networking across Africa’s wellness, sport and health sectors

Registration Now Open

With momentum building in African wellness and health innovation, organisers are urging early registration. Thrive by WHX 2025 is a unique chance to experience how science, strategy and innovation are converging to reshape human performance and wellbeing.
