The Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights is back for its ninth year, and this season brings more sparkle, more colour and more festive charm. For many families, this event is a tradition. It is where children gasp at glowing displays, parents capture their favourite holiday photos, and visitors soak up the joy that defines the season.

The gardens will shine from 6pm to 10pm on the following dates:

This year brings fresh features and family-focused activities:
• A Tropical Display House lit to showcase rare and exotic plants in a warm, magical glow.
• Two Food Gardens serving festive treats and gourmet snacks.
• Live Entertainment with nightly performances to keep visitors smiling.
• A Ms Claus Craft Café where kids make their own festive keepsakes.
• Santa’s Grotto for meet-and-greets.
• A Zipline Adventure through 100-year-old trees for thrill-seeking families.
• Santa’s Workshop, where children create a cuddly toy, and parents pick up stocking fillers.
With an extended route, themed sections, and interactive fun at every turn, the Trail offers a bright, joyful, festive escape.
