Elle TENS – Offering Drug-free Pain Relief in Labour

ElleTens devices

Elle TENS is a trusted, reliable and recognized electrotherapy range of devices for pain relief during labour, and pelvic rejuvenation related to incontinence. It’s a range we are excited to offer in South Africa, and share with people who have a desire for pain-free childbirth without drugs.

Labour Pain Relief

From the most basic unit to the most sophisticated functionality, the Elle TENS products offer labour pain relief, general pain relief and boost mode technology, which heightens the production of endorphins to mitigate pain in labour.

We offer four models of Elle TENS Products:

Obi-TENS: The basic unit which provides effective general pain and labour pain relief is a lovely device without many frills and fancies. In other words, it gets the job done. It is effective and functional.

Elle- TENS: The unit offers general pain and labour pain relief and is the first unit which also offers the Opti-Max technology which increases the pulse power during the latter part of labour.

Elle-TENS 2: In addition to the features of the Elle-TENS unit, the Elle-TENS 2 includes a contraction timer, which helps automate the release of electrical pulses and a backlight for better viewing of the Elle-TENS screen.

Elle-TENS +:  The Elle-TENS + unit has the same features as the Elle-TENS 2 unit. Added to this product is the Pelvic Floor Stimulator for women. The benefit of the inclusion of the Pelvic Floor Stimulator is that if there are issues of incontinence – both short and long term – after birth, there is an immediate solution at hand to help with pelvic floor strengthening.

Elle TENS for Men

Over the time that we have offered the Elle TENS products for labour, another subject which is less spoken about has become apparent. The instances of prostate issues leading to incontinence in men is a subject seldom spoken about and yet is a very common experience in ageing men. The Elle TENS Sensatone and Sensaprobe 4 combined, is a unit which we have found to be very effective in the stimulation of pelvic floor in men.

Accessories

Together with the TENS products, leads and accessories are readily available in South Africa.  We further offer the Pelvic Floor Stimulator units so that the user can extend the life and additional functionality of the unit. We avoid disappointment of using the Elle TENS products with the supply of quality accessories.

Electrodes

The electrodes are the unsung heroes of the Elle TENS devices. These gel pads stick effectively to the skin’s surface, but are similarly easily removed without pain. The low-level electrical pulse generated by the unit is connected by 2mm cables to the electrodes. Correct placement and early application of the electrodes ensures a healthy dose of natural pain relievers – endorphins are manufactured to mitigate pain. The Electrodes have between 15 and 20 applications before they lose their effectiveness and have to be replaced.

We share many positive reasons to consider Elle TENS products to mitigate labour but perhaps the stories which we find most encouraging are those where women overcome personal fear about childbirth through the use of an Elle TENS device. The reports from our clients of the sense of control, the ability to activate the device when it is most needed, and the resultant feeling that they are cognitively and physically present during childbirth provide us wonderful feedback about the effectiveness of Elle TENS devices.
