The retail industry and South Africa are mourning the loss of Raymond Ackerman, a true titan in the world of supermarkets and entrepreneurship. Ackerman, the founder of Pick n Pay, passed away on September 7th, 2023.

Ackerman was a graduate of Diocesan College (Bishops) and the University of Cape Town, where he earned a Commerce degree.
