The Bear and Alien: Earth are dropping soon on Disney+

Get your snacks ready and clear your watchlist… Disney+ has just announced the premiere dates for two hotly anticipated shows, and the countdown is officially on!

Carmy’s back in the kitchen! The Bear Season 4 lands 26 June

Everyone’s favourite chaotic chef is back. FX’s Emmy Award-winning smash hit The Bear returns for a fourth season on Thursday, 26 June, and yes, all ten episodes will be available to binge on Disney+ South Africa.

This season, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are turning up the heat as they push their beloved restaurant to even greater heights. But with new challenges around every corner, will The Bear be able to thrive or just survive?

Expect more tension, more perfectly plated chaos, and more of the found-family feels that made the show a global phenomenon. The cast also includes Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

Fun fact: The Bear recently scooped 11 Emmys for its second season – the most ever for a comedy series in a single year. So if you haven’t watched yet… what are you even doing?

Enter the terrifying future: Alien: Earth premieres 13 August

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any darker… FX’s Alien: Earth crashes onto your screen on Wednesday, 13 August. The sci-fi drama, created for television by Fargo’s Noah Hawley and inspired by the iconic Alien film franchise, kicks off with two action-packed episodes, followed by a new episode every Wednesday. Trust us… you’re going to need the breathing room.

Set in the year 2120, the show plunges us into a world run by five mega-corporations, where humans, cyborgs and synthetic beings all co-exist – barely. When a mysterious spaceship crashes on Earth, it brings with it something far more terrifying than any boardroom drama: a deadly alien threat.

Leading the cast is Sydney Chandler as “Wendy”, the first ever hybrid, a humanoid robot infused with human consciousness. She’s joined by a stacked international cast including Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Alex Lawther, Adarsh Gourav, and many more.

This one’s for fans of suspense, stellar world-building and things that go bump (and bite) in the night.

Don’t forget!

Both The Bear and Alien: Earth are rated for mature audiences, but Disney+’s parental controls let you set access limits and create PIN-protected profiles. So you can enjoy your binge in peace, knowing the little ones won’t stumble into Carmy’s kitchen meltdown or an alien ambush.
